On 11.12.2023, the parliament accepted the bill, which fundamentally revises Act II of 2007 on the entry and residence of third-country nationals. The planned entry into force of the new rules is September 1, 2024, so it is hoped that the authorities will also have the opportunity to prepare for the changes.
In many respects, the approved draft law reorganizes the possibility of foreigners staying in Hungary, as well as the types of permits entitling them to work.
Several background rules are still awaiting creation and acceptance, which are absolutely necessary for the processing and accurate interpretation of the changes.
