Depending on the citizenship of the expat and the purpose of stay we help determine the required permit type and other relevant administrations. We provide full-scale support in obtaining these and assist our customers during the processes. 

We provide additional services as well, such as support with official translation, attestation, notarisation and visa application to other countries.

The way we work

These residence permits grant the right to live in Hungary and to perform work according to the conditions specialised in the permit. All of these residence documents are issued for specific companies and jobs, they are not a general working permission. In case the change in the employment details a new permit should be acquired.
Non-EEA nationals staying in Hungary for more than 30 days, they must register their Hungarian address at the Immigration Office as well.

  • Residence permit for the purpose of work: for those who wish to live and work in Hungary as a local employee at a company registered in Hungary. The maximum validity of the permit can be two years.
    In case Ukrainian and Serbian nationals hold a biometric passport, they can be employed in some specific jobs with a simplified permit process.
  • Residence permit for the purpose of intra company transfer: for those who are on an international assignment. The maximum validity of the permit can be three years.
  • Work permit for short term: for those who are working for short term in Hungary. The permit only grants the right to work, additional visa may be required. The maximum validity of the permit can be 90 days.
  • Residence permit for gainful activity: for entrepreneurs and company directors. Company directors, who also carry out other tasks at the company shall acquire a residence permit for the purpose of working. The maximum validity of the permit can be three years.
  • EU blue card: for highly educated professionals, who are residing and working legally in Hungary already for at least 18 months. The maximum validity of the permit can be four years.

Non-EEA nationals staying in Hungary for more than 30 days, they must register their Hungarian address at the Immigration Office as well.

  • Residence permit for family reunification: for those whose close relatives have the right of residence in Hungary. The validity of this permit depends on the residence status of the relative in Hungary.
  • Residence permit for students: for students of Hungarian higher education institutions. The permit also grants the right to work up to 30 hours a week during the semesters and 40 hours a week during the semester breaks. The maximum validity of the permit can be two years.
  • Residence permit for other purposes: in case of non-registered domestic partnerships or if the purpose of stay does not fit into the defined categories, the “other” purpose should be applied. The validity can be maximum five years.
  • White card for digital nomads: for remote workers who wish to live in Hungary for an extended period (both employees and entrepreneurs). The maximum validity of the permit can be one year.
  • Registration card for EEA nationals: all individuals shall register at the Immigration Office, as proof of this registration a registration and an address card will be issued.
  • Residence card for family members of EEA nationals: if family members are joining a registered EEA national in Hungary, they are entitled for residence card and an address card will be issued as well. The maximum validity of the permit can be five years The permit also grants the right to work.

The right of permanent residence is an indefinite right of stay. The validity of the card is five years, and it must be renewed. An address card and a Hungarian ID card will be issued as well.

  • National permanent residence permit: for those who have been legally in Hungary for at least three years.
  • EC permanent residence permit: for those who have been legally in Hungary for five years or in the EU for at least five years and spent at least two of these years in Hungary as an EU blue card holder.
