In connection with residence permit applications for the Hungarian Card, the Ministry of National Economy (NGM) has published new guidelines regarding acceptable educational qualifications. There is no change in the fact that a Hungarian card can only be applied for if you have educational qualifications in specific fields (informatics, technology, natural sciences or a teacher’s degree in music or folk culture), however, according to the new position of the NGM, only qualifications obtained abroad can be accepted for this permit. A Hungarian Card cannot be applied for with an education obtained in Hungary.
