With effect of 05. 09. 2020, the government has loosened some points of Government Decree No. 408/2020 (in effect from 01. 09. 2020) concerning entry to Hungary.
The two important changes relating to entry:
- Concerning business and economical purpose entries, travels need not to be connected to affiliated companies. Hungarian and non-Hungarian citizens entering Hungary should credibly prove business and economical purpose of entry, and in this case, no entry permission must be applied for, and following entry, there is no need for the 14 days’ quarantine, either.
- If business and economical purpose of the entry cannot be proven, the entering person should undertake the 14 days’ quarantine further on, but concerning the two negative SARS-CoV-2 PCR tests required for exemption from the quarantine, tests performed in any of the Schengen countries, in the USA or Canada are accepted as first tests, if the result can be proven by a document in English or in Hungarian.
